With the holiday season in full swing and Christmas around the corner for those who celebrate it, I wanted to have a conversation about the true meaning of Christmas and how we can as parents, fight consumerism and re-shift our focus to what really matters. To do this I invited Rev. Amanda Hambrick Ashcraft of Middle Collegiate Church in New York City.

Middle Collegiate Church is a progressive church in the Village whose motto is welcoming, artistic inclusive and bold.  She is also the founder of Raising Imagination, a platform that inspires activism through the lens of imagination.

In this episode Amanda and I discuss what the true meaning of Christmas is supposed to be and how do we make the holiday season less about stuff and consumerism and more about helping and welcoming others?
